A man was found dead Monday morning on I-65 at the Arthur Street exit after police said he was hit by three vehicles.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit said an initial investigation showed the victim climbed over a guardrail that separated I-65 South from Arthur Street and was standing on the shoulder when a light color pickup truck of an unknown make and model hit the man, knocking him to the ground. The truck did not stop to help him. Shortly after, two other cars hit the man and continued driving.
Calls reporting a person down eventually came in around 9:15 a.m. Police said the man had died from his injuries by the time they arrived.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating the hit-and-run.
