Western Kentucky University Police arrested a university student following an apparent attempted abduction on campus Friday evening.
The incident unfolded just after 7 p.m. when authorities received a call from a female who said a man approached her and became physical with her near a greenhouse in the vicinity of Snell Hall.
The caller reported an alarming encounter with a man identified as 21-year-old Davaughn Johnson, a student at WKU, according to police.
Johnson reportedly engaged her in conversation before grabbing her and wrestling with her.
The woman fled from Johnson, seeking refuge at the Midtown apartments where she called the authorities. WKU Police later located Johnson near Cherry Hall and took him into custody.
Johnson now faces charges including first-degree sexual abuse, unlawful imprisonment, and fourth-degree assault. He is currently in the Warren County Regional Jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
Police said although the victim sustained minor injuries during the struggle, she opted not to seek medical attention.
