A Louisville man is behind bars facing a murder charge after police said he admitted to shooting a man in the Okolona neighborhood.
The shooting happened on Tuesday in the 3500 block of Versaille Lane around 9 p.m. Officers arrived and found a man shot in the chest. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but later died while in surgery.
Police arrested and charged 31-year-old Nathan Short with murder. An arrest citation said Short told officers his involvement in the shooting and said a fight broke out between him, the victim and a woman.
When the woman went upstairs, the arrest citation said that is when the victim was shot.
Short is expected in court for arraignment on Thursday.
