
Glasgow Police Department responded to a shooting on McKenna Street just after 8 p.m. Friday that left a teen in critical condition.
Upon arrival, officers found 20-year-old Christopher Rye of Glasgow was involved in a verbal altercation with 15-year-old Matthew Arms. During the altercation, Rye brandished a firearm and fired his weapon multiple times toward Arms and other bystanders.
Police said Arms was hit in the abdomen and treated by Barren/Metcalfe EMS. He was then transported to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment.
Rye is charged with one count of first-degree assault and three counts of wanton endangerment. He remains in the Barren County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond.
