Widespread outages from Sunday’s storm system have people worried about their groceries and next meals.
Fallen trees and downed powerlines are blocking some roadways and residents have been without power for over 24 hours.
After four hours without power, the FDA recommends people discard perishable foods such as meat, poultry, fish, eggs, and leftovers. A full freezer will hold a safe temperature for about 48 hours.
Some have been told it could be three to five days before power is restored to their area.
As of Monday, the LG&E outage map estimates power to be restored to many areas by Wednesday evening.
