
No one was injured after a barbershop caught fire in Louisville’s Portland neighborhood on Saturday afternoon, according to Louisville Fire department.
Firefighters were called to the 2100 block of Portland Avenue on the report of a barbershop fire around 4:31 p.m. Crews were on scene within three minutes and found the fire was extending to a nearby home and into an attic.
Firefighters conducted a search and rescue operation in both buildings, and everyone was able to be safely evacuated.
According to Louisville Fire, it took 35 firefighters around 28 minutes to get control of the fire. No injuries were reported, but one adult and one child were displaced because of the fire. The Red Cross will help the people who were displaced, according to Louisville Fire.
Arson investigators are trying to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
