A man who was shot multiple times and then approached a marked Louisville Metro Police car is expected to survive.
This happened on Thursday just before 11:30 p.m. in the 500 block of South 1st Street.
Louisville Metro police officers provided aid before EMS arrived and took the man to University of Louisville Hospital.
Investigators believe the shooting occurred in the area of South 27th Street and West Muhammad Ali Boulevard in the Russell neighborhood less than 10 minutes before the victim approached the police officers.
The LMPD’s Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is still investigating and there are currently no suspects. Anyone with information can call the police department’s anonymous Crime Tip Hotline at 502-574-LMPD (5673) or use the anonymous LMPD Crime Tip Portal.
