Louisville Metro Police have made three arrests in a major serial burglary case, recovering thousands of dollars worth of stolen property from across the city.
On Friday, the department laid out all the recovered stolen items. At a glance, it looks like a yard sale, but every item is actually evidence of a massive haul recovered by Third Division LMPD officers. Police are valuing all the stolen property, ranging from bicycles to yard equipment, at $50,000 total.
Sgt. Joey Keeling said, so far, three suspects are in custody charged in connection with the string of thefts across the city.
Detectives executed search warrants at properties in two different neighborhoods in southwest Jefferson County, between Pleasure Ridge Part and Shively, finding everything from lawn mowers to power tools, as well as narcotics.
But the houses hit were widespread across the Louisville metro.
Police are encouraging folks to get in the habit of noting serial numbers on valuable items, and marking their belongings to make them easy to identify.
Many of the items are still unclaimed. If you believe any of them shown in the story belong to you, or if your home or garage was burglarized in the last couple months, contact police at 502-574-5673 or at www.louisville-police.org.
LMPD said even if you haven’t filed a report yet, they will work with you to get you your belongings back.
