Two people, including a 10-year-old, were shot near a pool in southeast Jefferson County on Saturday evening, according to Louisville Metro Police.
LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said police responded to a shooting near a pool in the 12600 block of Saxony Park Circle, around 6:45 p.m. That is near Taylorsville Road and the Gene Snyder Freeway.
Ellis said police were told that a child around 10 years old suffered a graze wound from a gunshot. The boy was with a family member and flagged down EMS for assistance, according to Ellis. That child was taken to Norton Children’s Hospital with what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Police also found a man at the scene who had been shot. He was taken to University of Louisville Hospital with what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Ellis said police are working to determine the relationship between the victims, if any. Police also are trying to determine what led to the shooting and the motive.
There are no suspects in the shooting. LMPD’s Non-Fatal Shooting is investigating the incident.
