A detective with the Louisville Metro Police Department was arrested early Sunday morning after alleged drunk driving.
Kyle Carroll was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
LMPD said officers were called to the 2300 block of Frankfort Avenue where they found that the off-duty detective had hit a parked car. Officers could smell alcohol on Carroll’s breath as they were questioning him and began to give him sobriety tests.
An arrest report said his Blood Alcohol Content was 0.151. The legal limit is 0.08.
Carroll is set to be arraigned Monday.
LMPD released a statement saying, “LMPD takes this situation very seriously and we are grateful no one was injured. The officer will be placed on administrative leave as we investigate further.”
