An 18-year-old man turned himself in on Friday in connection to a fatal hit-and-run that took place July 7 in the Russell neighborhood.
According to Louisville Metro Police Spokesman Aaron Ellis, Breydn Taylor turned himself into police Friday afternoon.
Police responded to a crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian at 16th and Jefferson streets around 11:55 p.m. Once police arrived on scene, they found a woman who had been hit by car.
The 26-year-old woman was taken to University of Louisville Hospital by EMS, but she died there. She hasn’t been identified yet.
Police said a vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and hit the woman then fled the scene.
Taylor has been initially charged with leaving the scene of an accident and tampering with physical evidence.
