
A Metcalfe County man has been arrested on charges related to child sexual exploitation material.
According to a citation, an investigation was launched by the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received multiple tips regarding images of child pornography shared online.
The investigation found over 100 files of sexual abuse material depicting children under 12, according to police. Kentucky State Police confirmed that the accounts reported belonged to 57 year-old Steven Ray Hurt.
The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Hurt’s residence in Summer Shade on Monday. The search revealed multiple cellular devices containing child sexual abuse material.
Hurt is charged with one count of possession of a child sex doll, ten counts of possession of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under twelve years old and one count of promoting a minor under 16 years old in a sex performance.
Hurt is lodged in the Barren County Detention Center under a $250,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 24.
The investigation is ongoing.
