
Kentucky State Police is searching for a Louisville man after an altercation over the weekend in eastern Kentucky led to the death of a man.
The Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post received a call on Sunday regarding a death in the McDowell community of Floyd County, according to a Kentucky State Police news release.
Kentucky State Police troopers and investigators responded to a home on Kentucky Route 680 where they found a man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe a physical altercation between 41 year-old Michael Colley, 41 of Louisville, and 53 year-old Patrick Shepherd, of McDowell, led to the death of Shepherd.
Shepherd’s body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. The cause of death has not yet been released.
Authorities say Colley fled the scene before first responders arrived on scene. Officers searched the area but did not find Colley.
Michael Colley is described as a white male, standing 6’0″ tall, weighing 212 pounds. Last known clothing description was dark-colored jacket, dark-colored sweatpants and athletic shoes.
According to Kentucky State Police officials, Colley should be considered “armed and dangerous.”
