The trial date has been pushed back for the man accused of killing a 79-year-old woman in Fern Creek.
Mark Rudolph, 29, had a pre-trial hearing Monday. He is charged with murder, robbery, burglary and tampering with evidence in the death of Bettie Collins.
Court documents say investigators found knives with DNA on them in the victim’s car that Rudolph abandoned. They also suggest they found Collins’ blood on Rudolph’s clothes.
The defense requested one of their experts be in the lab of the DNA testing facility while testing is underway. Prosecutors said that wasn’t possible. The judge ruled that she will need more time to find out why, saying she is not opposed to the request.
The case is back in court September 17.
