Police say a man will be charged after crashing a stolen motorcycle near Louisville’s Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood Tuesday evening.
Louisville Metro Police officers were called to a reported crash between a crossover SUV and a motorcycle in the area of Greenwood Road and the Greenbelt Highway around 6:17 p.m., according to department spokesperson Sgt. Matt Sanders.
Police believe the motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was headed north on the Greenbelt Highway, while a crossover SUV was headed south. As the SUV attempted to make a left turn onto Greenwood Road, the vehicle and the motorcycle crashed head-on.
The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and transported to University Hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening, according to police.
Sanders said the driver of the crossover SUV remained at the scene and “is OK”.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating the crash, and found that the motorcycle had been reported stolen.
Sanders said the driver of the motorcycle will be charged following his recovery from the hospital.
