The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office said an overnight traffic stop for careless driving led to drugs seized and an arrest made.
A Nelson County deputy pulled over a Nissan Altima, being driven by 39 year-old Nicholas Ballard of Bardstown, on Tuesday around 1:20 a.m. A K-9 reportedly helped during a search of the car and several bags of methamphetamine were found.
Ballard was arrested and lodged in the Nelson County Correctional Center under a $9,500 cash bond.
He is charged with careless driving, operating on suspended operator’s license, and first-degree trafficking in controlled substances.
