
One person is dead, and five other people were hurt in a mass shooting in Lexington early Friday morning.
According to the coroner’s office, the person killed has been identified as 31-year-old Antoine Clay.
Police say five other people were hurt in the shooting that happened around 12:18 a.m. on National Avenue, near El Cid’s, which is off Winchester Road.
Lexington police confirmed in a release that six gunshot wound victims were transported to UK Hospital for their injuries. Clay was pronounced dead at the hospital, while the other five are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have not released any other information about what happened. However, they did clarify early Friday afternoon that there was no ongoing threat to the public.
Chad Walker is the property owner where the shooting took place.
Walker said the security cameras he has in the area should help police in this investigation.
