A former University of Kentucky student, charged in a racist attack on a Black student, pleaded guilty to multiple charges on Monday.
Sophia Rosing, 23, pleaded guilty to four counts of fourth-degree assault, one count of disorderly conduct and public intoxication for the November 2022 incident.
Rosing, who is white, was caught on video shouting racial slurs and hitting a Black student employee at a residence hall.
She was arrested that night. She later withdrew from the school and was banned from campus by the university’s president. She is not eligible to re-enroll.
Rosing will be sentenced on October 17. She faces up to a year in prison and 100 hours of community service.
