
Louisville Metro police are investigating after a teenager was shot in Old Louisville early Saturday morning.
Around 3:35 a.m., officers were called to the area of South 1st Street and Burnett Avenue on the report of a shooting. Police said they found a man who claimed he shot at a couple of teenagers after they tried to break into a car.
Police said they found a 15-year-old boy shot in the leg at nearby College Court a short time later. He was taken to UofL Hospital and is expected to survive.
Louisville Metro Police said they did not arrest the man who shot at the teens and that he remains cooperative with detectives.
The Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating. They are canvassing for more witnesses and going through surveillance footage. Anyone with information can call the anonymous tip line at 502-574-LMPD (5673) or use the LMPD Crime Tip Portal.
