One person is dead and another was injured after crashing their car into a tree and a utility pole in Louisville’s Buechel neighborhood Sunday evening.
Matthew Sanders, a spokesman for Louisville Metro Police, said officers responded to the intersection of Breckenridge Lane and Redding Road on a single vehicle crash just before 5:15 p.m.
Police found two injured people on scene. According to Sanders, both of them were taken to UofL Hospital where one of them died and the other has serious but non-life threatening injuries.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit said the vehicle was going fast in the northbound lanes, then for an unknown reason, lost control and crossed over into the opposite lanes and crashed into a utility pole and a tree.
This caused nearly 1,000 LG&E customers to be without power in the area.
