Louisville police have arrested and charged the driver involved in a weekend crash in the Buechel neighborhood that left one person dead.
Wimpy Myers II, 45, is charged with murder, criminal mischief and driving under the influence.
Police said officers were called to Breckenridge Lane and Redding Road at 5:13 p.m. Sunday where they found two people seriously injured after a single-car wreck. They were both taken to the University of Louisville Hospital, where one later died.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit said the car was speeding north when, for an unknown reason, the driver lost control, crossed into the southbound and then hit a utility pole and a tree.
Myers was later arrested at the hospital.
