
An Owensboro man was arrested after Kentucky State Police troopers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Maple Street in Owensboro around 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
Troopers located large bags of suspected methamphetamine, counterfeit Percocet pills believed to be Fentanyl, synthetic marijuana, marijuana, ammunition, scales and various forms of drug paraphernalia.
Jamal D. Huggins, 36, was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd Offense-Methamphetamine (greater than 2 grams); Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Fentanyl); Trafficking in Synthetic Drugs 1st Degree; Possession of a Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Huggins was lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center in Owensboro under a $50,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in District Court on August 26.
Kentucky State Police, Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security were involved in the investigation and arrest.
