One person is dead and another is significantly injured following a single-vehicle crash Thursday in Hopkins County.
Deputies with the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle collision near Ilsley Road and St. Charles Road, according to a press release.
The caller, who was involved in the crash, said the vehicle went off the eastbound shoulder of Ilsley Road and struck a tree.
The driver, Patience Satterfield, was outside the vehicle waiting for emergency services. She was later airlifted to the closest trauma center due to significant injuries.
The passenger, Elizabeth Townsell, was found inside the vehicle but succumbed to serious injuries sustained during the collision. She was pronounced deceased by the Hopkins County Coroner’s Office.
The collision remains under investigation.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the St. Charles Fire Department and Medical Center Ambulance Service.
