
According to the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, deputies came across a stolen vehicle from Alabama traveling on Franklin Road Saturday.
When the vehicle was stopped, a passenger exited the vehicle with their hands up. The driver of the vehicle then left the scene where a pursuit began. Scottsville Police Department also assisted Allen County Sheriff’s deputies during the pursuit.
Allen County Sheriff’s Office said the vehicle was traveling over 100 mph passing through intersections along New Glasgow Road, New Gallatin Road and Smiths Grove Road.
The driver, 24 year-old Kyle Cutchins of Scottsville, eventually lost control of the vehicle then leading police in a foot pursuit. Cutchins fled into a field where deputies caught up with him.
Cutchins was taken into custody and lodged in the Allen County Detention Center.
Cutchins is charged with Receiving stolen property $10,000 or more; Fleeing or evading police (first-degree); Fleeing or evading police (second-degree); Disregarding traffic control devices (traffic light); Reckless driving; Speeding more than 26 mph over the speed limit and Resisting arrest.
