A woman died after a motorcycle and SUV collided in the 4400 block of Preston Highway just after 7:30 p.m. Friday, according the the Louisville Metro Police Department.
According to their initial investigation, a man and woman were riding a motorcycle when they collided with a white SUV.
Police said neither the operator nor passenger were wearing helmets.
They were taken to UofL Hospital with critical injuries, but the woman was pronounced dead a short time later.
The man remains in serious condition.
Preston Highway was shut down for a couple of hours while police cleared the scene.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
