A large investigation is taking place at a home in Nelson County in connection to the Crystal Rogers case, according to the FBI.
The home is located in Cox’s Creek and was sold by Nick Houck in 2018. Nick is the brother of Brooks Houck, Rogers’ former boyfriend. Brooks is charged with murder and tampering with evidence in connection to Rogers’ disappearance.
The site was very busy for most of Wednesday as investigators focused on digging up the property on Whitesides Road.
They have tents and a trailer all set up at the home and a few skid steers were seen moving across the property as well as an excavator.
Aerials also show what looks to be an archaeological type site where investigators have been sifting through rocks and concrete.
Nelson County Sheriff Ramon Pineiroa briefed the media Wednesday and confirmed that they are looking for Crystal Roger’s body.
Investigators have been at the home since September 3 and will continue their search going into Thursday.
It has been nine years since Crystal Rogers’ disappearance. The mother of five was last seen in July 2015 at the home she shared with her then-boyfriend Brooks Houck.
Her car was found abandoned on the Bluegrass Parkway with her purse inside. There have been several searches for her remains over the years- but Crystal has not been found.
Father-son duo Steven and Joseph Lawson are each charged with conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with evidence. The judge has not decided if all three suspects will be tried together, or separately.
