An active shooting incident shut down a section of Interstate 75 Saturday afternoon and resulted in multiple people being shot.
The shooting occurred near Exit 49 on the interstate, shutting down the road in both directions from exits 41 to 59.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 11 confirmed that KY 909 and US 25 in Laurel County were also shut down.
Officials with the Laurel County Sheriff’s Officer are looking for a person of interest in the shooting.
Officials say Joseph A. Couch, 32, is a person of interest.
He is described as white, 5′10″ tall and weighing approximately 154 pounds.
Couch is considered armed and dangerous.
