A 21-year-old New Albany man was arrested in connection to a deadly June shooting in the Russell neighborhood.
Louisville police said their homicide unit alongside several southern Indiana police agencies arrested Isaac Summers and charged him with complicity to murder Monday afternoon.
According to an arrest report, Summers and another currently unknown suspect shot a woman several times at 26th and Market streets. Summers and the other suspect fled before police arrived. The woman later died at UofL Hospital.
Louisville Metro Police Department said they obtained surveillance video that shows a damaged white Dodge Dakota registered to Summers circling the area prior to the shooting. Louisville Metro Police used a search warrant to go through Summer’s phone records which also showed him being present in the area at the time of the shooting.
Police said the video later showed the victim waiting at a bus stop with two other people when Summer’s car pulled up and started firing at her. Police believe another person at the bus stop was shot as well but left on foot before officers arrived.
Summers is expected in court Tuesday for arraignment.
