Publix now has plans to open 12 locations in Kentucky, and one of those is coming to Hardin County.
A company spokesperson confirmed Tuesday that a new Publix location is planned at Pear Orchard Road and Ring Road in Elizabethtown. A timeline for its opening has not been determined.
Publix has one Louisville location that opened earlier this year with two more already under construction at 100 Flat Rock Road and 10005 Ballardsville Road.
Publix has more than 1,300 stores in eight states, but its first Louisville store is the largest employee-owned store in the United States.
The other eight locations planned in Kentucky include three in Lexington, one in Owensboro and four in northern Kentucky.
