Kentucky State Police and Hart County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in reference to the sound of gunshots around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at L&N Turnpike Road and Waterloo Road.
Upon arrival in the area officials were advised the suspect had fled in to a wooded area nearby. A perimeter was set up around the wooded area, after hearing gun shots. After a brief standoff, the suspect, 30 year-old Nicholas Noyes of Cecilia, came out of the woods and was taken in to custody. Noyes was lodged at the Hart County jail.
There were no injuries and there is no further threat to the community at this time.
