A Louisville man will spend 20 years in prison for sexually abusing a child.
Airan Hernandez Mendez, 35, was arrested back in 2022.
Louisville Metro Police said the abuse started when the victim was six and ended when she was seven. He would allegedly take her to the basement for sex acts.
The girl said he also made her watch obscene videos that included both adults and children. The victim told her grandmother and aunt, who then called police.
In April, a jury found Hernandez Mendez guilty of sodomy, sexual abuse, and distributing obscene matter to children. He was sentenced Thursday.
