A motel in Shively is days away from being shut down after Louisville officials slapped it with numerous code violations.
The owner of Louisville Manor Motel at 4600 Dixie Highway has until Friday to vacate. The violations were issued after police were called to the troubled motel more than 200 times this year.
The order is a notice of criminal activity nuisance, or in other words the police have been called there too many times.
Shively Police Public Information officer Sgt. Jordan Brown said there have been numerous incidents at the property such as, firing off a gun in the parking lot aimlessly, many overdose deaths, vehicle thefts, large quantities of narcotics seized and pretty much anything that you can imagine.
According to the code enforcement notice from the city of Louisville, the owner has not complied with past orders. The owner now has until Friday, September 20, to appeal the order or lose any rights to appeal in court.
