Madisonville Police say an officer was hurt during a scuffle with a suspect Tuesday.
They were called to an address on Adams Avenue because of a littering complaint.
When they got there, they say 38-year-old Rosamay Johnson of Madisonville starting walking towards them.
Police say they believed Johnson was “manifestly under the influence.”
An officer says, while trying to detain her, Johnson started to resist and fight.
Police say the officer was kicked during the fight and Johnson dug her fingernail into the officer’s arm, causing it to bleed.
Police say the officer’s uniform was also damaged.
Johnson faces several charges including public intoxication, criminal littering, menacing, resisting arrest, assault on an officer, and criminal mischief.
She is being held in the Hopkins County Jail under a $500 cash bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on September 27.
