A man has been arrested for allegedly firing shots at another male in Scottsville.
Just before 4 p.m. Friday, a caller told Scottsville police that a man had fired two shots at him, according to a release. That man was later identified as 43-year-old Matthew Burchett of Scottsville, who fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.
After receiving multiple tips as to Burchett’s potential whereabouts, Scottsville Police Department and Allen County Sheriff’s Department K-9s located a scent track, leading officers to Burchett’s location in the area of Franklin Road.
Burchett was later apprehended in the Oliver Street area and arrested without incident on the following charges:
First-degree wanton endangerment (enhancement)
First-degree fleeing or evading police
Possession of a handgun by a convicted felon
He is lodged in the Allen County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond.
