A man is head after a motorcycle crash on New Cut Road Friday evening, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department.
LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said officers responded to a report of a crash at the intersection of New Cut Road and Orchard Hill Drive just before 10 p.m.
Early investigation shows that a man on a motorcycle was traveling south on New Cut Road, at what is believed to be a high rate of speed, when it crashed into the side of a SUV that was in the process of turning onto New Cut Road from Iroquois Park. Ellis said the man was thrown from the motorcycle onto the roadway.
EMS pronounced the man dead upon arrival, according to police. The driver and passenger inside the SUV were injured and were taken to UofL Hospital where they are expected to survive.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit is handling the ongoing investigation.
