Two people were found dead in a home on Saturday, according to a news release from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the 8000 block of Bagdad Road on a report of a home invasion on Saturday.
When they got there they found two adults dead.
Jeff Iver, Shelby County Coroner’s Office identified 40-year-old Jessica Hager as the victim. Officials are ruling the shooting as a murder-suicide.
Officials say the shooter was a friend of the family. The shooter was the ex-boyfriend of Hager’s sister-in-law.
The sheriff’s office said there is no more information available about what lead up to the deaths as they are still investigating.
