Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man in connection to a deadly shooting last month.
Wednesday, Louisville Metro Police arrested 18 year-old William Irvin and charged him with murder. LMPD Spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said Irvin was arrested on a warrant after a foot pursuit with police in the 1400 block of Dixie Highway.
On Friday, September 13, around 2:30 p.m. police responded to the 1600 block of Dixie Highway in Louisville’s Algonquin neighborhood on a report of a shooting. Police on scene found 18-year-old Jerrick Young, who had been shot. Young was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses at the scene said Young was leaving JJ Food Mart when he was shot and killed.
Irvin is due to be arraigned Thursday, October 10.
