Police in Scott County say a man tried to kidnap a young girl at a school bus stop.
Officers arrested 52 year-old Moises Vergara, of Georgetown, on Monday afternoon.
A 10-year-old girl told police that Vergara followed her from her bus stop to her house on Salinger Drive in Georgetown.
Police say he allegedly tried to lure her into his white van multiple times. A doorbell camera caught him opening the van door and asking the young girl to get in.
Vergara’s family members identified him in the surveillance video and led officers to him.
He told police it was all a misunderstanding.
Vergara was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 15.
