A man accused of shooting at police in Shawnee Park in 2022 has been sentenced to more than a decade in prison.
Herbert Lee pled guilty Thursday to 20 felony charges in two cases against him. Police arrested him in July 2022 when officers spotted him at the Dirt Bowl in Shawnee Park.
Lee had multiple warrants out and ran from the police. While running, he started shooting at the officers, hitting one of them in their protective vest.
Lee was also convicted for intentionally running into a former girlfriend’s car and cashing checks from his dead father’s account among other charges.
In a separate case, Lee admitted to stealing a handgun and then running from officers at Mall St. Matthews.
With all of that, he has been sentenced to 13 years in prison. Under the Safer Kentucky Act, he is not eligible for parole or probation.
