A man was arrested and charged with arson Monday after a fire at a tire shop on Dixie Highway, according to arrest documents.
According to a police report, 69 year-old Lubbert Legan is charged with one count of arson and one count of wanton endangerment for the alleged crimes.
Police say Legan set a fire around 3:45 a.m. Monday at the Big O Tires location on Dixie Highway. The fire extended to an adjacent building causing damage, although it is not clear from the document if the original fire was inside or outside at the address.
Legan was identified by employees at the tire shop and was caught on surveillance video. Police arrested him just under 12 hours later a few blocks away on Dixie Highway.
Police say he was wearing the same clothes as observed at the time of the fire and Legan admitted to setting the fire after he was arrested.
