
Louisville Metro Police say a pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle on the Gene Snyder Freeway Monday afternoon.
The accident was reported around 2:15 p.m. in the southbound lanes between the Preston Highway and Smyrna Road exits.
Louisville Metro Police Department said an initial investigation showed the pedestrian was struck while trying to remove a possible ladder from the road. Two other cars then became involved in the crash as well, for a total of three vehicles.
The pedestrian was taken to UofL Hospital where he later died.
The drivers of the three cars were also taken to the hospital. They are expected to survive.
The roadway was reopened around 5:25 p.m.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating.
