Louisville police have arrested the father of a 3-year-old girl who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Reports of the shooting were made on the morning of Thursday, November 21, in the 5500 block of Overbrook Woods Place. Police said the child, Aubree Goss, had accidentally shot herself. Goss was taken to Norton Children’s Hospital, where she died from her injuries.
Her father, 29 year-old E’Monta Goss was charged with manslaughter and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon. An arrest citation said Goss told police that he loaded and placed the handgun under the couch inside the apartment where the child had access.
He said he fell asleep and woke up to the sound of a gunshot.
LMPD’s Homicide Unit is handling the investigation.
