A man that was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Poplar Level Road Monday morning was critically injured and has died.
Around 8:41 a.m. on Monday (12/02), an off-duty LMPD officer found a man who had been hit by a car on Poplar Level Road at Illinois Avenue. Police said the man was trying to cross Poplar Level Road in the middle of the roadway when he was hit by a car.
The victim was taken to University of Louisville Hospital where he later died from his injuries. The driver of the car was not injured. Police said no charges are expected.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit will lead the investigation.
