A four vehicle accident claimed the life of three people in Hardin County Saturday evening.
The Hardin County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an accident near the 6 mile marker on Bluegrass Parkway just after 5 p.m.
A vehicle, operated by 30 year-old Shirley Fuqua of Elizabethtown, was traveling eastbound when it struck another eastbound vehicle. Fuqua lost control of the vehicle, left the highway on the left side, crossed the median, went airborne and struck a westbound vehicle head-on, causing it to hit another westbound vehicle in the front passenger side.
The operator and passenger in the westbound vehicle that was hit head-on, 58 year-old Leslie Parson and 55 year-old William Parson, both of Bowling Green, and Fuqua were all pronounced deceased at the scene.
The operators of the other two vehicles were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction Unit.
