
In a major decision at the Democratic Governors Association’s Annual Meeting in Los Angeles, Democratic governors have elected Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear to serve as Vice Chair for 2025 and Chair-Elect for 2026.
Alongside Beshear, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly was re-elected to continue as Democratic Governors Association’s Chair for a full one-year term in 2025.
Beshear’s election as Chair-Elect signals his rising prominence in the national political landscape and his commitment to growing the ranks of Democratic governors across the country. According to the press release, his leadership helped transform Kentucky, making him a strong choice for the role.
Beshear is currently serving his second term in Kentucky.
