Police released details on a shooting Monday morning near a busy intersection in east Louisville.
The shooting was reported by 8:15 a.m. at Dutchmans Lane and Browns Lane.
St. Matthews Police Chief Barry Wilkerson said that is where a 14-year-old boy died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The teen was behind the wheel of a car that belonged to his family. Police said he was traveling from Sherburn Lane onto Browns Lane, when he hit another car. The vehicle came to a stop, and police say he took his own life with a firearm in the vehicle.
