Kentuckians who want to change their political party registration must do so before the start of the New Year.
Under Kentucky state law, the deadline for voters to change their party affiliation is December 31.
Voters can update their voter registration and party affiliation online at govoteky.com and selecting the New/Update Registration button.
By making a change in party affiliation, the voter will be allowed to take part in that party’s upcoming primary election. In 2025, there are no Primary or General Elections scheduled in Kentucky.
