Kentucky State Police Post 03 Bowling Green responded to a two-vehicle fatal collision on Nashville Road (US31W) in front of the Flying J Travel Center in Franklin just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2024 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, operated by 33 year-old Eric Green of Bowling Green, was traveling north on US 31W. A 2020 Kenworth Commercial vehicle, operated by 29 year-old Nugusse Yonathan of Burien, Washington, was exiting the Flying J Travel Center onto US 31W entering the path of Green.
Green was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Simpson County Coroner.
The investigation is ongoing and will be led by Trooper Grant Roberson.
Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Franklin Police Department, Simpson County Fire Department, Simpson County Sheriff’s Office, Simpson County EMS and Simpson County Coroner’s Office.
The collision remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police
