A woman was taken to the hospital after being stabbed in the Shawnee neighborhood Tuesday evening, according to Louisville Metro Police.
LMPD Sgt. Matt Sanders said police responded to a stabbing in the 300 block of North 44th Street near Northwestern Parkway, around 5:17 p.m. When police arrived on scene, they said multiple residents were outside arguing, including the alleged suspect.
A woman in her 50s had been stabbed multiple times. Sanders said police used a taser on the suspect and took him into custody. Police rendered life-saving medical measures to the woman.
She was taken to University of Louisville Hospital. She is stable and expected to survive, according to Sanders.
Police believe it started as a neighbor dispute.
