
Authorities in Russellville are investigating after a person allegedly inquired about a detonation device at a Logan County Walmart.
The Russellville Police Department reported that officers responded to a complaint on January 3 and detained the suspect, later identified as 18-year-old Jace Hostetler of Auburn.
According to an arrest citation obtained, Hostetler told an employee that he and a friend had made a bomb and needed supplies to detonate it a mile away from the explosive.
Following the report, authorities responded and arrested Hostetler. The ATF is assisting with the investigation.
The citation states Hostetler did not have any bomb-making materials on his person, and advised officers the bomb was potentially in Oskaloosa, Kansas.
Police say there are no credible threats to the area.
Hostetler is charged with first-degree terroristic threatening. His arraignment is set for Monday at 1:30 p.m.
Russellville police were assisted by the Logan County Sheriff’s Department.
